Before I really get into the good parts of this game, I have a few things to talk about. First of all, the game itself. The graphics are pretty good, not great. It is the PS1. But, the game has a nice feel to it. Simple graphics with clean lines really lends to the experience. The game is very old school, so there is no 3D polygons or in-game depth. Basically the game is like a 2D side-scroller, and that is what is great about it. It is actually a challenge to play because of how you have to go around in a 2D plane. You can't go off-screen or over anything. You have to get the timing of the cuts just right, or you will be back at the beginning. The one downside to this is that you can only use one weapon at a time, and you can't jump. Not until you get the right inventory and equipment. The game has a ton of weapons. You start with a couple slingshots, you get a double-shot, a couple quivers, and an elephant gun. There are also mines, a telescope, a crossbow, a double-blade, and a machine gun. And, there are plenty of ammunition and health. Basically, when you find a health or ammo pouch, you can also find a mine. And, when you collect some of the items on the way through the game, you can collect more ammo, health, and mines. Also, if you find a med kit, you can heal, which is a great addition. Now, the controls. You have a square, a cross, and a circle. And, the square and the cross are shoulder buttons. The circle button is your movement. I always found it easier to press the cross button to turn right and the square button to turn left. And, the circle button is the movement, just like any other platformer. So, your movement is very simple, and it makes it hard to use. One thing I didn't like about the controls was the fact that it was a 2D side-scroller. And, the movement controls I used really were poor. Now, the circle button controls movement, but sometimes you will have to move to your right or left to collect an item, but the way you are moving your character, you would need to first go left, and then right.
